| JENNA USHKOWITZ IS PULLING FOR TINA TO JOIN THE CHEERIOS! NOVEMBER 20, 2009
In a recent interview with the New York Post's PopWrap, Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) offered up some song scoops from upcoming episodes and discussed what she thinks about Tina faking her stutter. She also said she hopes Tina joins the Cheerios! (But only if she can keep the blue streaks in her hair.)
Here's an excerpt from the interview. Be sure to click through to read the rest of the article! (Caution: There are song spoilers in the portion of the interview not excerpted here.)
PopWrap: Kevin McHale told me last week that he's pro Tina and Artie because you guys are BFFs in real life -- are you on the same page? Jenna Ushkowitz: Oh, I am so totally on Team Artie and Tina! Fans have started pro-Tina and Artie blogs, which I love!
PW: Have you guys come up with your own celebrity couple nickname yet? Jenna: Well, some people are calling us Tartie, but I like Artina. But it is fun because we are such good friends, I don't know which came first actually.
PW: We also got to finally learn some more about Tina last week. Jenna: That was thrilling because if you don't have that much information as an actor you come up with a backstory to make it work for yourself.
PW: In your made-up backstory was Tina's stutter real or fake? Jenna: It was real. But I think it worked out for the best because you don't ever want to make fun of the stutter but I wanted to make it as real as possible since she pretended to have it since sixth grade. But they had told us that someone could be faking something, so I had an inkling.
PW: As an actor how did you feel about ditching it? Jenna: I was so excited! [laughs] It would have been fun to keep it because that just gives her one more quirk, but this opens up a whole new set of doors for Tina.
PW: Yes, maybe that she's not trying to push people away any more she'll wear some color? Jenna: Oh, that's interesting, I hadn't thought about that. But I'm all for the black -- I wear little black dresses every day!
PW: Will we learn anything else about Tina in the final four episodes of 2009? Jenna: The next few episodes are about getting to sectionals and plots that have been brewing since episode one bubbling over -- especially with the baby daddy drama. So Tina goes back into her glee bubble and focuses on sections a bit, but in 2010 we'll see more of Tina.

| GLEE A HIT WITH THEATER FOLK NOVEMBER 17, 2009

The New York Times ran a sweet article today on Glee's enthusiastic fans from the New York theater world. We all know Glee is connecting with theater geeks, so it comes as no surprise that the show is a hit with Broadway stars — especially since they can call some of Glee's cast their own.
Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, and Jenna Ushkowitz are all stage veterans, and a few of Broadway's biggest stars have (or will!) guest star on Glee (most notably Kristin Chenoweth and Jonathan Groff).
Casts of some of Broadway's biggest shows have even set up Glee viewing parties, such as the one pictured above with the Bye Bye Birdie cast. So, which character's their favorite? Kurt, of course!
Sam Corbett, an intern at O&M, a theatrical public-relations firm that holds Glee viewing parties, explained why he likes Kurt:
“Mostly because it seems like Rachel gets all the solos. And in real life, Chris Colfer wanted to sing ‘Defying Gravity’ in high school and he never got the chance. That’s why it was written into the script.” You can read the entire article right here.

| NEW MUSIC FROM "BALLAD" NOVEMBER 17, 2009
Wow, I've got six — count 'em, six! — new songs for you from this week's episode, "Ballad." There's a whole lot of Rachel in this episode — she's the lead in three of the songs. But there's good news for Artie and Mercedes fans: The pair bring it this week in "Lean on Me"! Finn also knocks it out of the park on "I'll Stand By You."
Here's your peek at the music from this week's Glee. Which songs do you like best?

| TWO NEW CLIPS FROM THIS WEEK'S EPISODE NOVEMBER 16, 2009
Rachel's hot for teacher! That's right — in this week's all-new Glee episode, called "Ballad," Rachel falls for Mr. Shu. A horrified Mr. Shu tries to fend her off, and recalls another student who crushed on him. That student is Suzy Pepper, played by Sarah Drew (mostly recently seen on Grey's Anatomy).
Here's what Sarah had to say to E!Online about her guest spot:
"I play a character named Suzy Pepper who has an insane, absurd, psychotic crush on Mr. Schuester. I don't want to give too much away because it's just hilarious, but she's kind of stalkerish and creepy."
And, without further ado, here are two new clips from "Ballad!"

| PROFILE OF LAUREN POTTER, GLEE'S NEW CHEERLEADER NOVEMBER 12, 2009
Wow, what an episode last night, huh? I think "Wheels" is certainly going to go down as one of the best episodes of the season. Jane Lynch and the writers did an impeccable job of humanizing the once hard-as-nails Sue. Okay, how many of you out there shed a tear during the scene with Sue's sister? This is why I love this show.
Last night we also met Becky Jackson, the new Cheerio with Down's Syndrome. While Glee has taken some flak from disabled advocates for filling Artie's role with a non-wheelchair-bound actor (Kevin McHale), fans have been applauding this episode for shedding light on the complexities of disability with warmth and sensitivity. While Sue's treatment of Becky seemed cruel, we later learned her reasoning: She wanted to treat her as her sister would have wanted to be treated — like everyone else.
Lauren Potter, the 19-year-old Riverside, California resident who plays Becky, was thrilled to land her recurring role on Glee. In a wonderful piece by Jennifer Dean of The Press-Enterprise, Lauren said:
"It was great filming it, and it was a lot of fun," Lauren said. "I love 'Glee' and it was a great experience meeting all the characters." Lauren's mother explained that the role itself was especially poignant:
"It was kind of ironic because Lauren tried out for Poly [High School] cheerleading this year," Sinkhorn said. "She didn't make it. She was really heartbroken. Then here comes this role and in it she wears a cheerleading outfit and makes the team." You can read the entire article on Lauren, plus watch a video of her talking about her Glee experience, right here.

| RUMOR MILL: DIANNA AGRON AND ADAM BRODY DATING? NOVEMBER 10, 2009
Cute (possible) couple alert! Dianna Agron was spotted having coffee and sharing some laughs with actor Adam Brody on Long Island last Friday. You know what that means. Two celebs, having coffee? Must mean they're together! All kidding aside, I think these two make a darling couple, if they are indeed dating.
Adam is currently on Long Island shooting a movie called The Romantics, which also stars Katie Holmes. Dianna was in New York to participate in the Glee soundtrack signings.
The day before she met up with Adam, Dianna tweeted: “On the [Hampton] jitney [bus]. Excited for this next little adventure.” She later wrote, “Amazing day.”
Do you think Dianna and Adam make a cute couple?
